Archive Racking Project – Case Study

2 Tier Archive Racking System

Location: Tyne & Wear

JOG Consultants project manager was approached by a Tyneside based firm who required an extensive archive racking system to store a large amount of archive boxes, in the region on 14000.

As a local company, based in central Newcastle-Upon-Tyne it was easy to commute to our client who was also based in Tyne and Wear to discuss the project, which required 100% accessibility and linear storage. Using the latest AutoCAD design programs we were able to propose a number of archive racking options, with the accepted option a proposed two tier archive system.

From our extensive proposals it was clear that we knew what we were doing and we were awarded the contract to supply and install the racking system flooring and staircases.

We ordered the material from one of our quality assured suppliers based on our clients budget, expected delivery time and the manufacturers quality standards. The project was installed by our own experienced pallet racking installers on a strict time table. As project managers we also oversaw the installation of smoke detection, standard and emergency lighting, alarm systems, as well as the installation of an office and toilet facilities. Even with a number of suppliers and tradesman working around each other in tight conditions the racking was installed on time and to budget.

As project managers for this archive project we were also asked to arrange for the installation of all electrics including standard and emergency lighting, smoke detection and the alarm systems, once these were fitted we were able to complete the installation by installing the staircases and mesh protection to all exposed areas. In all the project was finished on time and to budget. The ‘JOG Consultants  Standard‘.
